An ISP will have many servers connected to the internet. In order to make your domain and its contents available on the internet you need to rent space on one of these servers. (Or rent your own dedicated server).

There are thousands of ISP's out there and you can spend hours searching for the cheapest or the best and it is impossible to know how good or bad they are unless they are recommended or you try them.
